Why do so many people give up on their hearing aids? It’s rarely because they didn’t try.
They spent good money and had high hopes. They were told “they would eventually get used to them”, yet day by day, the reality spoke differently:
- ✗They could hear the person next to and behind them in a noisy room, but not the person sitting across from them.
- ✗The TV was still too loud, relying on subtitles.
- ✗Everything felt too amplified, tinny or echoey.
- ✗The aids themselves felt bulky, itchy or uncomfortable.
- ✗The hearing aids were too complicated to get on with.
“A hearing aid is only as good as it is set up to meet the needs of the individual.”
Why is your TV up so loud? It was never the volume, it’s clarity you’ve been missing.
Watch what the volume does the moment clarity comes back, in one appointment.
A real patient takes the Heareka™ TV volume challenge. After one appointment, she follows the TV clearly, volume right down, no subtitles in sight.
From people, like you, who’d given up hope until they discovered Heareka™
“I’d used hearing aids for six years with limited success. I didn’t appreciate there could be such an improvement, my hearing is probably the best it’s ever been. There really is a Heareka moment.”
“My 95-year-old mum is now the proud owner of Heareka hearing aids, which have transformed her hearing. We’re all looking forward to Christmas with Mum, who will now be able to join in our conversations again.”
“The best decision I ever made was hearing aids programmed to the Heareka method, it transformed my quality of life overnight. I can now hear every word in important work meetings. The difference in speech clarity is astounding.”

‘Off-the-rack’ versus ‘Made to measure’

First your ear. Then your brain. Two stages, not one test.
Measured to your ears 👂
Heareka™ adjusts the amplified sound as it reaches your eardrum, taking into account your unique ear canal’s shape and size. This is called Real Ear Measurements (REMs), an evidence-based method recommended for fitting hearing aids correctly. Although widely recommended, it isn’t routinely used in every fitting pathway.
Tuned to your brain 🧠
The sound at your eardrum is only half of the story, ultimately your brain has to make sense of it all. We further tune your hearing aids to how you actually experience it, through a guided and predictable process where your feedback is central, fine-tuning everything from background noise to the subtle nuances of speech sounds.
Check your eligibility. Hear it for yourself.
If you’re already weighing up how to hear better, this is a rare chance to test a different approach, properly, and at no cost. There are 100 places. Take one.
“Blindness separates us from things; hearing loss separates us from people.”
Helen Keller
The moment I stopped saying “You’ll eventually get used to them”

For nearly twenty years, I’ve fitted hearing aids for thousands of patients, from straightforward fittings to the most complex cases.
Early on, I heard the same heartbreak, again and again:
“It was fine in the quiet clinic room. But the moment I stepped outside into the noise, I couldn’t cope. Everything felt too loud, and I still couldn’t follow what others were saying.”
People invested time, money, and hope, only to leave underwhelmed by it all.
That bothered me from the day I qualified. Two patients with near-identical hearing loss. The same technology. Completely different outcomes. One walked away delighted. The other persevered for a while, then quietly gave up and locked their aids in a drawer.
As a profession, we were trained to address this known phenomenon with “habituation” advice and “lowering expectations” of new users. But that never quite sat right with me.
The missing link was the gap between what technology could deliver and how each brain uniquely processes sound. Working across different countries and clinical perspectives, that gap became almost impossible to ignore, until we began to close it.
The breakthrough ‘Heareka™ Moment’ came in 2019. The first patient to experience Heareka™ came back to donate to the NHS voluntarily, purely out of gratitude. Hundreds of Heareka™ moments have followed since.
Now we’re on a mission to establish whether this could become a new standard in hearing aid care.
Where it began, and where it’s headed
Addressing the two elephants in the room
Why are we giving away £210 of clinical care for free?
Because it’s a real research study, and your time is a real contribution. We need 100 volunteers to give honest, anonymous feedback, so we can measure how well the Heareka™ method works, or doesn’t. Your data could improve hearing care for many people to come. The £210 of care, free, is our way of saying thank you.
Will you be hard-sold anything on the day?
No. Never any pressure, never a hard sell. The appointment is at BestHear, a trusted local private clinic, and its purpose is simple: to collect anonymous study data, with your explicit consent, to validate Heareka™. That’s the first elephant: tackling the inconsistency in hearing aid care worldwide, head-on.
What happens after your Heareka™ Moment?
Some will find the difference so striking they choose to go ahead privately at BestHear, under no obligation, and no pressure. If they do, we follow up at weeks 2 and 8 to track the long-term outcome.
Others will decide it’s not for them. That’s completely okay.
A third group will feel the difference, but hold back for financial reasons. We’re also very much interested in them, and they’re just as welcome in the study.
We’ll invite them to an optional survey: what price, and what payment plans, would make premium Heareka™-fitted hearing aids manageable for them in the future.
That collective data will help us take their case forward with the manufacturers at source, in the hope of tackling upfront cost as a barrier, and with it, the second elephant in the room: making premium hearing care more manageable and accessible for everyone.
Your part in it breaks down barriers, and raises the standard of hearing care at the same time.
Two welcoming clinics, and a relaxed, unhurried visit
There’s nothing clinical or rushed about it. We’ll gently remove any earwax, carry out a full hearing assessment, and let you experience the Heareka™ Moment, explaining each step in plain English as we go along. No jargon and no white coats, just clear, friendly explanations.
